The Design and Advanced Materials (DAMADEI) Project as a driver of European innovation is a collaborative online platform presenting the current picture of the European design and advanced materials sectors.
The current status and future challenges in the production of the most important engineering ceramic materials (Al2O3, SiC, Si3N4, ZrO2) is outlined. Their specific properties to be considered for the design of ceramic components are discussed.
