Monday, October 07, 2019

The first Factory of the Future on the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in The Netherlands has a size of 100 000 m2.

BIC is the home base for far-reaching partnerships between suppliers, specialist companies (like Ceratec Technical Ceramics BV/NL) as well as innovative educational and knowledge institutions in the Brainport region. The campus will ultimately comprise a total of five factories. The first factory, which has been opened by King Willem-Alexander, includes seven innovation programmes in the fields of flexible manufacturing, high-tech software, 3D-printing and logistics (AML). In addition, BIC houses a full-fledged secondary vocational education course for the industry at Summa College.
King Willem-Alexander had been given a tour of the campus and talked to employees about the importance of cooperation and the role that BIC plays as an high-tech open supply network. After the opening ceremony, the King met with directors and representatives of companies involved in BIC.
