6th Workshop on Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing 2025

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing methods like Metal Binder Jetting or Lithography-based Metal AM are currently the most promising route towards modern industrial series production. They all have in common that no tools or moulds are required for shaping; and the resulting components, after being subjected to a final heat treatment (“debinding and sintering”), have mechanical properties similar to those of conventionally manufactured PM parts. One of the main benefits of sinter-based AM is the ability to utilise a wide range of materials, including metals and ceramics, basically any powder material that can be sintered would be a potentially suitable material for this process.

Over the last five years, Fraunhofer IFAM’s Sinter-based AM workshop has established itself as one of the prime industry get-togethers on metal binder jetting and other sinter-based AM processes. On 8 to 9 October 2025 in Bremen/DE international speakers from industry and R&D will provide insight into the latest advancements and industrial implementation of the respective technologies. The workshop program will be supplemented by interactive elements, a tabletop exhibition and a Component Award competition.

The main topics addressed in this workshop will be

  • Industrial implementation of Metal Binder Jetting and Use Cases
  • Sinter-based AM with ceramics
  • New materials for sinter-based AM.

The registration is open until 22. September 2025.
