Oxide Ceramic Fibre Development at Fraunhofer Center HTL

Oxide ceramic fibres are required for reinforcement of metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites – especially in high temperature applications. Fraunhofer Center HTL/DE has been successfully developing customised oxide and non-oxide ceramic fibres for more than 20 years. In the field of oxide fibres, R&D work is focused on reinforcing fibres in the mullitecorundum system.
