Company profile

The Institute for Manufacturing Technologies of Ceramic Components and Composites
(In German: Institut für Fertigungstechologie keramischer Bauteile – IFKB) is part of the engineering faculty at the University of Stuttgart.
We develope solutions for challenges in the fields of high-performance ceramics and surface technology.

The department for high performance ceramics is doing research along the complete process chain of oxide based technical ceramics from powder selection and material preparation to shaping, debinding, sintering and part characterisation for varoius shaping technologies especially CIM and AM. Therefore we are able to aimingly and integratively optimise every aspect of manucacturing with regard to the overall goal such as part or process properties often leading us to develop new materials and manufacturing technologies.
