This advanced coating enhances the performance and longevity of ceramics used in valves, seals, and similar applications. Ceramic seal discs in faucets are a typical example where coating guarantees low operation force without any grease. BALINIT® MILUBIA is a specific type of Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating with a tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) structure, known for its exceptional hardness and excellent friction properties in boundary lubrication and water environments. BALINIT® MILUBIA adheres well to metals, ceramics, and plastic substrates. It is also approved for applications involving drinking water and food contact. Among DLC coatings, BALINIT® MILUBIA stands out due to its unique hardness of 35–50 HIT GPa and very low coating process temperature (below 100°C). The low process temperature enables coating on temperature-sensitive materials and helps maintain the original flatness of ceramic parts.
