3D-Printing Gears up our Future: purmundus challenge 2018 Now Accepting Submissions

As the demands placed on products and designs continue to rise, new production technologies like Additive Manufacturing are emerging to offer new ways to meet them. „3D-printing has what it takes to influence our future in a way that is both lasting and positive. It gears us up for all eventualities”, explains Corinna Ray, Management of purmundus challenge. The purmundus challenge 2018 thus aims to motivate the creative minds out there to explore the perspectives these cutting-edge methods are already opening up today in shaping the innovations of tomorrow. It also wants to encourage to consider employing materials and procedures that have not yet broken through, are still being researched, or have yet to be invented. The purmundus challenge jury will be looking for solutions that stand out not only in terms of their design, innovativeness, and sustainability, but their utility, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness, as well. Its members include luminaries of the 3D-printing sector, representatives from well-known industrial companies and research institutes, and experts in the surrounding market.

The members of the jury are (in alphabetical order): Christoph Behling – Christoph Behling Design Ltd.; Prof. Richard Bibb – Loughborough University; Isabelle Fröhlich – Volkswagen AG; Tilla Goldberg – Ippolito Fleitz Group; Dr Alexander Hildebrandt – Festo AG & Co. KG; Frank Kleemann – Freelance industrial designer; Andreas Pany – Ernst Strassacker GmbH & Co.
